Sean Paul Grande

Funeral Director & Embalmer

Sean was born in Drumheller and lived here until 1992, when he moved to Calgary to attend Mount Royal College. While in Calgary he worked in the restaurant and catering industry alongside his studies. In 2000 Sean moved home to Drumheller, completed his Certificate in Practical Nursing in Continuing Care, and worked with Drumheller Continuing Care for a few years.

In 2002 Sean joined Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel and apprenticed as an Embalmer, and he has been a member of the Care Team ever since. His friend and mentor Gus Hamilton, then Manager of Courtney-Winter's, had encouraged him to join and perhaps one day become involved in ownership should he find the work gratifying. That answer came in 2008, when Sean became a shareholder in the company that owns Courtney-Winters Funeral Home.

Sean finds great satisfaction in serving others. He enjoys his work in embalming, makes sure the needs of the families he serves are a priority, and enjoys working with such a capable and caring team. In his spare time Sean is a member and volunteer with various clubs, committees and boards in the Drumheller area, and is also a Commissioner for Oaths.

About Us

Funeral care built around clarity and trust

Courtney-Winters Funeral Home has served the Drumheller community since 1910. We are the only full service funeral home in the Drumheller Valley: local people providing care to local people. Our Care Team, led by Managing Funeral Director Scott Kuntz, is compassionate, respectful and understanding, and we recognize that every family is unique. Whether you desire a full traditional funeral, a simpler memorial service or a conversation about pre-planning, we are here to help. Courtney-Winters is a division of The Caring Group, a family of locally rooted Alberta funeral homes, and is still run here by people who live here.
