Wilmer Leslie Forsch
November 3, 1942-September 13, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wilmer, husband, dad, papa and great papa. It is with great joy that we announce his entry into Heaven.
Wilmer had three great loves in his life. His Heavenly Father, his family, and farming. He loved the Lord and looked forward to meeting Him. He found great comfort in Psalm 91, reading it alongside his devotions, daily. His worn Bible was always by his side. He loved his family, bragging about them every chance he got. Wilmer and Selma were able to travel all over North America, making many great memories. He was so proud that his family and farming went together. He loved farming, as well as his GMC pickups. He was the first farmer in the area to own an articulated 4-wheel drive tractor, the Versatile 118. His extensive collection of John Deere and Versatile toys, was proof that he was a kid at heart. He was very proud that the family farm turned 100 years in 2019, with the fifth generation living there now. He lived there for 80 years before retiring to town. It pleased him that the family took over the farm, and will continue to love it the way he did.
He leaves to mourn Selma, his wife of 62 years, his sons Kevin and Bradley, his daughter Lisa (Darcy), his grandchildren Colton (Hannah), Blake, and Cassidy (Alec), and his great grandson Luke Edward. He also leaves his sister Phyllis Cook and her family, his brother Floyd and his family, and his brother-in-law Oscar Kesterke. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4.
“Only God can make a dad with such a loving heart, who cares about his kids enough to guide them from the start. Believing in them always, and so proud of what they do. Thank Heaven there are dads, who are as wonderful as you!” This is on the bookmark in his Bible.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff in the Acute Care Unit of the Drumheller Health Center, and to Dr. Ram, for the exceptional care he received.
