Shane Joseph Swiss

            Shane Joseph Swiss of Calgary, AB, beloved son of Lynn Meadows of Drumheller, AB and James Swiss of Sidney ,BC, passed away suddenly on August 14, 2025 at the age of 46 years.

            Shane was born in Halifax, NS on September 13, 1978, and  moved to Calgary at the age of 3 with his family.  During his school years he was involved in baseball, basketball and football.  His love of sport remained with him throughout his life.

            Shane was a talented chef and builder who had pursued careers in both fields during his lifetime. Equally happy swinging a hammer or spatchcocking a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, Shane enjoyed sharing his passions with his family.

            Shane became a Red Seal Chef working in restaurants in New Orleans, Halifax, Calgary and Jasper.

            He also had his own construction business in Calgary specializing in unique carpentry and renovation, developing the skills he learned from his grandfather over 30 years ago.

            He is gone too soon and will be sorely missed.  Besides his loving parents, Shane leaves his brother Liam (Nicole), sister Lauren, nephew Noel and nieces Evangeline, Celia, Kiana and Teija.

A memorial will be held October 4, 2025 at Auburn House, 200 Auburn Bay Blvd SE, Calgary, AB at 1:00 pm.
