Born in Craigmyle in 1928 to Charlie and Ruth Greer, dad was raised on a homestead farm near Delia and continued farming until later in life.
He loved farming and buying machinery..and became a darn good mechanic.
In later years, he spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona and made many friends.
He traveled lots, bowled and golfed some.
He attended as many dances or jams as he could. Dad was 95 when he last drove his motorhome by himself down to Arizona.
He LOVED his motorhomes.
He enjoyed traveling and camping through most of the United States and parts of Mexico.
One of the things that he most liked to talk about during his lengthy stay in the hospital, was the wonderful places and things he saw on his journeys.
Dad loved to dance. He would often beetle off on weekends, in his motorhome, to some small town in Alberta to dance. There he met many wonderful friends, who he had so much in common with.
He came home stiff and sore but with lots of stories to share.
Dad loved family gatherings, he liked having the kids and grandkids around, but only for so long..
When he had enough of the 50 or so people hanging around, he’d head back to the peace and quiet of his motorhome.
Dad enjoyed a long life with great health. In June of 2026, he took a fall and broke his hip.
He remained in the Drumheller hospital from that time till he passed away.
Our family is beyond grateful for the wonderful Doctors and Nursing staff at the Drumheller Acute Care for their kindness and amazing care dad received during his 5 month stay.
Dad lived well, he was very patient: as a patient, and he will be greatly missed.
At Dad’s request, there will be a private family gathering at a later date
