It is with sadness that we share the passing of Wendy Ann Crawford, a remarkable woman who passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2026.

Wendy was born in 1964in Calgary. She lived in Red Deer before making Drumheller her home in 1987. Over the years, she became a much-loved member of the community, touching countless lives with her kindness, humour, generosity, and unforgettable personality.

Positive, uplifting, genuine, and full of life, she had a wonderful gift for making people smile. Wendy loved to tease her friends, play jokes, and share a laugh. With her great sense of humour and playful spirit, she was often the life of the party and built a tremendous number of lasting friendships. She had a wonderful ability to bring joy to those around her.

Sports and recreation were an important part of her life. A dedicated sports enthusiast, Wendy competed in events throughout Alberta and took great pride in her participation and accomplishments. She especially loved bowling and was an enthusiastic participant in Special Olympics bowling, earning many awards along the way. She also enjoyed swimming, bingo, and watching wrestling. Whether competing, participating, or cheering on her favourites, Wendy embraced her interests wholeheartedly.

A true cowgirl at heart, Wendy loved everything country, including rodeos and country music. Music and dancing brought her tremendous happiness, and her enthusiasm was contagious. She also had a special love for Halloween and Christmas, embracing the fun, excitement, and simple pleasures that made these seasons so special.

Wendy found joy in life’s simple pleasures and sharing that joy with others. She enjoyed cooking and baking, shopping, cleaning, meeting friends for coffee, and spending quiet time creating crafts. She took great pride in her appearance and enjoyed attending special events. Her love of nature was reflected in her enjoyment of plants, feeding the birds, and appreciating the world around her. She made everyday moments memorable.

Perhaps one of her most special qualities was her caring heart. She genuinely enjoyed helping others and found great fulfillment in caring for people. Through her volunteer work at several locations throughout the Drumheller community, she gave her time and energy to others, making a difference in ways both big and small. Wendy’s life was enriched by the many friendships she formed and the connections she made throughout her community.

Wendy will be remembered for her loving nature, mischievous humour, generous spirit, love of life, her unmistakable personality and the happiness she brought to those around her. She lived life in her own special way and made the world a little brighter simply by being herself. Though she will be deeply missed, her laughter, kindness, and the cherished memories she leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
