February 14, 1930 ~ October 5, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julia Anne Pepin (Laslop), who passed away at Drumheller Long Term Care at the age of 96. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. Julia and her twin sister Rosie were welcomed by their parents, Julia and Joseph Laslop on February 14, 1930, in Drumheller, Alberta. Julia later met her husband, the love of her life Lawrence Pepin. They were married in Edmonton in 1963, Julia and Lawrence went on to welcome 3 sons. Twins Lawrence (Larry) and Leonard (Lenny) in 1963 and Darryl in 1968. Julia and Lawrence raised their family on an acreage just outside of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Once he retired, they sold the acreage and moved to Wetaskiwin.
Julia loved her family deeply and always called her sons “the boys”. She always made sure everyone had everything they needed. Her greatest joy was making meals for her family and friends. She loved country drives especially the scenery and the chance to see wildlife. It filled her with joy. She spent countless hours laughing and loving her grandkids like no other grandma.
Julia is survived by her sons Larry and Darryl. Her grandchildren Angela (Blake), Megan and Nicholas. Also, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Julia was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, son Lenny, sister Mary, twin sister Rosie, and her brothers Joseph and Michael.
She will forever be remembered deeply by her family and friends and missed always. Anyone who knew Julia knows her family was the most important to her.
The family of Julia would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and all the staff from Drumheller Long Term Care. You showed our mom love, kindness, and understanding. We will forever be grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
