Remembering Viola Schafer January 7, 1935 ~ February 9, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. Viola passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 80 years old.
Viola is missed and loved by her husband of 60 years, Howard, her children Terry (Laura), Deborah, Linda, Thomas, Nancy (Jeff). Her siblings Ronald, Richard, Jean, Irene, Ben, grandchildren Markus, Chauntelle, Aundrea, Nickolas, Emily, John, Steven, Myles, Leanne, Jamie, David and Jessica as well as 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viola was predeceased by her parents, John and Rosina Bischke, and son-in-law Raymond.
Viola (Vi) was a member of several organizations that brought many good friends into her life. She belonged to the Sandstone Bowling Alley, the Dinosaur Golf Club and curled at the Drumheller Curling Club. She Enthusiastically participated in functions at the Sunshine Lodge, and at the Badlands Passion Play. Vi was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held on February 17, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. (620, 2 Avenue West, Drumheller, AB (403) 823-3192)
