Rita Jeane Weed

Rita Jeane Weed (nee Tilbury) passed away at the Drumheller, Alberta Hospital on Monday 3, 2020 at the age of 93 years.
She was born in Weybridge, Surrey, England on November 8, 1926. At the age of 19 years, she met and married Gordon Weed, who was in the Canadian Army stationed in England in WWll. She traveled from England to Jordan River, Saskatchewan in 1946 to begin her life with her beloved Gordon. The started farming in the Huntdale District on V.L.A. land raising 9 children. Rita was a home maker and when she had time she loved to knit.
She was predeceased by her husband Gordon (2004), Sons Gary (2003) and Derek (2013) and grandson Curtis.
She was the loving mother of Roger (Marlene-deceased), Shirley (Lyle Hackett), Norma (Don Holdstock), John (Cathy), Roy (Dianna), Colin and Donna. She is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Sheila Tribe and her brother Alan Tilbury along with many nieces and nephews in England.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Drumheller Hospital for the excellent care she received during her stay there.
A private family graveside service will be held in September 2020. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
