It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Raymond Thomas Tremblay of Drumheller on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the age of 44 years. Raymond was born on April 14th, 1973 in Claresholm, Alberta as the sixth child of Ruth and Fern Tremblay. Ray loved to keep busy and was always on the move from the start. He went from countless hours in the sand pile playing Tonka toys with his brothers to any hands on school activity he could find. Shop and mechanics were his favourite, and he was even noted as one of the best cooks in his Home Economics class! Ray went on to operating heavy equipment and excelled at this. Many stories have been told to us of his outstanding ability with the track hoe. When he wasn’t playing in the dirt, you could find Ray proudly cooking large quantities of food for his family and friends making sure no one went away hungry. People were always very important to Ray, and no one was any less important to him no matter if he had just met them or if he had known them for years. He was the type of person that would give you his last dollar if he thought you might need it more than he did. Ray always made time to help people, and gave generously to many. His talent as a handy man was much appreciated on many occasions. Ray worked hard and played hard. He had many friends and colleges and worked in many places in western Canada and the U.S. In his free time Ray loved to ride his Motorbike, and spend time with family and friends. Even though he was only here a short time, he lived his life to the fullest every day. His impact on everyone is great and he will fondly remembered by all of us. Raymond is survived by his daughter Kira and by his special friend; Erin Layden and her children Eric and Mathew, five siblings; Mike Tremblay, Jo-Anne (Gary) Dalton, Dan (Connie) Tremblay, Sylvie Tremblay (Mark Smitten) and Buddy Tremblay. Nieces and nephews; Vanissa (Dan) Trout, Logan Tremblay, and their mother Christine Lavine, Odessa Nicholson, Shannon (Jeff) Currie, Jason Dalton, Christopher (Rita) Regehr, Danielle Tremblay, Colin Tremblay, Jeff (Janene) Smitten, Cody Smitten (Alicia Ott), great nieces and nephews; Philip Trout, Gracelynn Trout, Darien Currie, Rayowynn Currie, Talina Currie, Brodin Regehr, Daryan Regehr, Shawn Regehr, Ella Regehr, Kara Regehr, Alli Smitten and Brinley Smitten. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Don Drexler, Betty Hart, Pat O'Connor-Brown, Judy (Pat) Thompson, Joe (Louise) Drexler, Andre`(Ginette) Tremblay, Monique Tremblay, Collette Tremblay, Cecile Tremblay, and Therese Tremblay, also numerous cousins, and many really good friends. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth on August 16, 2009, his father Fern on November 6, 2009 and nephew Ryan Tremblay, as well as maternal and paternal grandparents, uncles and aunts. A memorial service for Ray will be held at the Munson Community Hall on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Dan Hendrickson officiating. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Ray, memorial contributions may be made to any children’s charity of your choice.
