Remembering Phyllis Buyer
November 24, 1932 ~ April 19, 2012 Phyllis Doreen Buyer passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Daunavan just nine months ago. Loving mother of Lynette Runions (Ken), Lyle (Jeannie); grandchildren Nicholas, Starla (Joe), Daunavan (Kirsten), Adam (Jalene), Katherina and Mitchell; sister of Mildred Ohlhauser (Vern), Lilian Moller, Shirley Buyer; sister-in-law of Nova Ohlhauser, and caring aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Lydia Schuler and her brother, Ben Schuler. She grew up on a farm near Carbon, AB and spent her early professional years as a teacher in Edmonton and Carbon, where she would later partner with her husband in the operation of several businesses. In the mid-eighties, she moved to Calgary and sold real estate before taking a job at the U of C library. Throughout her life, Phyllis was involved in several leadership positions within her local and broader church community. She loved music and was often asked to sing at various events. A Memorial Service will be held at Carbon Baptist Church on Friday, April 27 at 1:00pm.
