Remembering Marjorie Lehman
September 5, 1927 ~ January 1, 2012 Marjorie Eleanor Lehman of Drumheller, Alberta, wife of Gus Lehman, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on January 1, 2012.
Eldest child of Ernest and Minnie Hazzard, Marjorie was born September 5, 1927 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. After the family had relocated to Bienfait, Saskatchewan, her father was killed in an accident, and Marjorie left school at fourteen to help her mother support her five siblings. She married her first husband, Roy Schrock in 1946. They moved with son Clayton to Rowley, Alberta, where daughter Lynda was born. Daughter Brenda arrived after the family had moved to Drumheller. Marjorie and Roy divorced in 1968. Marjorie later married Gus Lehman in 1975. In 1979, they moved to Medicine Hat, relocating to Hinton in 2002. Early in 2007, Marjorie suffered an aortic aneurism; she was not expected to live, but her strength and tenacity pulled her through. Marjorie and Gus moved back to Drumheller later the same year.
Marjorie loved to crochet, cook, bake and garden. In her younger years, she was an avid dancer. She could often be heard singing and whistling, her merry blue eyes sparkling when she smiled. Her household was always spotless; never a thing out of place. She will be lovingly remembered and eternally missed by her family and friends.
Besides her loving husband Gus Lehman, Marjorie is survived by; her two daughters, Lynda (Gary) Collins, Brenda (Marlin) Taillefer, her son Clayton (Marjorie) Schrock and her two step-daughters Lorna (Don) Jarvis and Judy (Mel) Kapicki, as well as six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
