Margaret Rose Mattock of Drumheller passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Born in Calgary on September 18, 1941, to Clarena Sucee, Marg grew up alongside her sister,
Dale. After graduating from high school, she began her career with the Bank of Montreal, where
she worked until meeting her husband. Together, they raised their three children—Brent,
Brenda, and Bryan across Saskatchewan and Alberta. The family eventually settled in Delia,
where Marg spent many years working for CIBC before relocating to Drumheller for her
retirement.
Despite facing numerous health challenges later in life, Marg maintained a spirited and
independent lifestyle. She could often be found buzzing around town on her scooter, heading to
Yavis’ for her morning coffee, or enjoying an afternoon of shopping. She expressed her
creativity through painting, cross-stitch, and crochet. Above all, Marg cherished her family and
leaped at every opportunity to babysit her grandchildren.
Marg spent her later years at Hillview Lodge and later in Continuing Care, where she embraced
community life—never missing bingo, happy hour, or a trip on the Valley Bus.
Marg was predeceased by her mother, Clarena Sucee and her brother in law Arnold Hanson. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her sister, Dale; her children, Brent Mattock, Brenda (Ron) DeMille, and Bryan (Lynn)
Mattock; her grandchildren, Lindsay (Mike) Bladen, Cassandra (Bo) Davidson, Dallas DeMille,
Kimberley Mattock, and Rachel (Justin) Mattock; her great-grandchildren, Parker, Madelyn,
Berkeley, Tommie, and Leo; as well as her nephew, Darcy, and niece, Dawn.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Continuing Care for their exceptional
kindness and attentive care, especially during Marg’s final weeks.
Special gratitude is also extended to Tom and Norm at Bubba T’s, whose dedicated service
made it possible for Marg to travel wherever she wanted in the valley. She truly adored them
both. In accordance with Marg’s wishes, donations may be made in her memory to Bubba T’s in
lieu of flowers, as a tribute to the invaluable service they provided her.
A Service of Remembrance for Marg will be held Monday, September 14, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Courtney-Winter's Funeral Homes,
luncheon to follow at the Midland Community Hall.
