Remembering John Chester Ryning
June 28, 1924 ~ May 5, 2012 John Ryning passed peacefully at Drumheller Health Centre on May 5th at the age of 87 years. He was surrounded by his wife and children. John was a hard-working farmer, nature lover and a self-taught painter. He was known for his kind nature and his quick wit. He loved nature and spent many hours roaming the coulees looking for birds.
He is survived by: his loving wife Betty, daughters Susan (Peter), Karen, Andrea (Kyle), and son David (Gisele); grandchildren Julie (Darren), Corey, Alycia, Shivaughn, Kaitlyn, Isha and Rowan; great grandchildren Jase and Isla; sisters Francis, Ruth (Albert), Dorothy (Don) and brother George (Doreen); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Tim, sister Marion (Herb), and brother Bill (Kuni).
The family would like to thank the staff of the Acute Care Department of the Drumheller Health Centre, in particular Myrna Gouin and Dr. Kuschke.
A Memorial Service will be held at RUMSEY COMMUNITY HALL in Rumsey, Alberta on May 10, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Mary Ellen Moore officiating. A private family interment to follow in the Rumsey Cemetery.
