Remembering John Robert Edwards
July 5, 1921 - October 3, 2011 John passed away peacefully Monday, October 3rd, 2011 at Drumheller Health Centre with family at his bedside. He was born in Drumheller and grew up in the Horseshoe Canyon. He loved sports, playing ball, curling and horseshoes long after retiring from farming.
Remembering Lavinia Frances (Cosens) Edwards
July 26 1927- October 6, 2011
Lavinia passed away quietly Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at Drumheller Health Centre with family present. She was born in Portland, Oregon and came as a child with her family to the Munson- Michichi area. Music was a big part of her life. She enjoyed many years working with children at Morrin School.
John and Lavinia were married on July 1, 1948 and moved to the Rowley area in 1950. They built the family home and moved to the farm in 1954 where they raised their family of four. They enjoyed time spent dancing, camping with family, and travelling with friends. They leave behind a legacy of love, family and community.
They are survived by their children Lynn Edwards, Jo (Paul) Berlinguette, Kim (Harley) Siebold and Glen Edwards. Grandchildren: Curtis (Ghislaine) Berlinguette, Candace Berlinguette (Mike Kennard), Sherri (Robert) Zschuppe, Shawn (Nicole) Siebold, Wendy (Christopher) Kublik. Great-grandchildren: Zachariah and Alexander Berlinguette; Clint, Trevor, Kendal and Frances Siebold. Siblings: Beverly Buchwald, Luella Cosens, Shirley (George) Hughes, Phyllis Primrose, Clara Edwards, Gerry Edwards and many nieces and nephews.
John and Lavinia were predeceased by siblings: Evelyn and Jim Sears, Gladys and Slim Fillingham, Scott Primrose, Jim Edwards, Craig Edwards, Vance Cosens, Glen Buchwald and nephew Jim Primrose.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 2:00 P.M. at Rumsey Community Hall.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Alzheimer's Society or the MS Society.
