John CHARMONT John left our world far too soon on Nov 14 in Mexico. There are not enough words to describe the love, light and fun John brought to our lives. He was born on October 19, 2001 - just a little bit early because he couldn't wait to get started. His parents Chris and Terra and big sister Megan instantly fell in love with him, quickly followed by grandparents, aunties and friends. John was happy and curious right from the start and wanted to try everything. Simple things like cooking with mom and Megan, snuggling up to read books and blowing bubbles all held a special magic. It wasn't long before he discovered his talent for making people laugh and it became his life's mission. Whether it was giving his French teacher a post-it note speeding ticket for driving her French cart too fast or wearing a huge pizza costume solely to entertain - it brought him happiness to make others smile. Generosity was second nature and giving to others brought him joy. He was very bright and often frustrated when people didn't believe he had created motorized lego boats and used motors to move tinker toy creations. Adventure was always on his mind and he jumped in without fear whether it was swimming over wild stingrays, cliff jumping without hesitation or any other offer of excitement. Hockey was his biggest passion and from the first day he put on skates he was smitten. His kind heart shone through as he encouraged his team mates and even patted the backs of opposing team members. John's family attended every game to cheer "Moose" on. No one was prouder than his dad who managed John's team, coaching and encouraging him and his friends every step of the way. John is survived by his adoring mom Terra Charmont (nee Bartzis) best friend and sister Megan, grandparents Madge Charmont, Jim Bartzis (Kat), Heather Bartzis (David), aunties Alicia Bartzis (John), Tasha Shapka (Trevor, cousins Jenn and Chris) Deb Moore and uncle Ron Petersen, extended family, Drumheller Atom Raptors hockey teams and many dear family friends. He is predeceased by his grandpa Jean and his father Chris who is making this journey with him. RIP John - Rest In Pizza! A celebration of life was held in Drumheller at Church of the Nazarene followed by burial in Nordegg. In lieu of flowers, donations to Make-A-Wish Canada may be made in John's memory. Forever in our hearts.
