Remembering Daunavan Jack Buyer
February 8, 1932 - August 1, 2011 Daunavan Jack Buyer passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2011 at the age of 79. Daun is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughter Lynette Runions (Ken); son Lyle (Jeannie); grandchildren Nick, Starla (Joe), Daunavan (Kirsten), Adam (Jalene), Katherina and Mitchell; sister Nova Ohlhauser and sisters-in-law Mildred Ohlhauser (Vern), Lillian Moller and Shirley Buyer. He was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Rose Buyer and brother, Morley.
Daun grew up on a farm near Carbon, AB and ran several businesses within that community. In the mid-1980's, he moved to Calgary where he opened a meat shop and then worked as a financial planner. Daun is known by many for the mouth-watering farmer sausage he loved to make and share. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8 at Brentview Baptist Church, 3512 Charleswood Dr. NW, Calgary at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place the same day at Carbon Freudenthal Cemetery at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Taylor Seminary (11525-23 Ave., Edmonton, T6G 4T3) or Camp Caroline (Box 250, Caroline, AB, T0M 0M0).
