Shirley Anne Veinotte

July 21, 1936 – January 30, 2023

Shirley passed away at the Drumheller Continuing Care on January 30, 2023 with all of her family by her side.

Shirley was born in Strathmore, Alberta on July 21, 1936, to Joseph and Elizabeth VanBavel.

Shirley worked in the valley for many years at the Drumheller Mail, she greeted everyone with a smile and a hello.  Shirley was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, she loved her time with her family.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents: Joseph & Elizabeth VanBavel, step daughter Cathy Veinotte, brothers: John and Donald VanBavel, her first husband Neils Christensen, her son Keith David Christensen.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Carl Veinotte, her children: Anna (Bill) Morrow, Kevin (Bev) Christensen, Chris (Nicki) Christensen, Greg Christensen, Bryne (Ellen) Christensen, Teresa (Brad) Davis, Duane (Rachel) Veinotte, Krystal Veinotte, her beloved 20 grandchildren, her 16 beautiful great grandchildren, numerous other family members and a lifetime of friends.

There will be a Celebration of Shirley’s life  at the Midland Community Hall on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M..  If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones’ choice.

Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.

The Veinotte/Christensen family thank everybody in Long-term Care and Memory Lane at the Drumheller Health Centre, you all gave Shirley such great care, and we are truly grateful for all the friends she made there.
