Ronald Edward Seeger, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 90 at the Drumheller Health Center Acute Care.  Ronnie was predeceased by his wife Norma on June 12, 2024.  He is survived by his four children Cameron (Suthin), Dean (Colleen), David, Barbara (Murray).  Ron also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Shannon (Cody), Mellissa (Brad), Courtney, Amber, Cassie (Chloe), Holly, and Claire (Marice) and 4 great-grandchildren: Marshall, Cali, Roarke, and Jacklynn, and many nephews and nieces.

Ronnie was born Oct 4, 1934 in Alsask, Alberta to Wesley and Edna Seeger. He spent his early years in and around the Brooks, AB area.

Ronnie and Norma were married November 10, 1956. Ron was working as a Heavy Earth Moving Equipment operator near Lake Louise constructing Highway 93.  They lived in the work camp for a time.  Soon after they moved to Vauxhall to join his father in the W.E. Seeger and Sons Trucking Company where they operated cattle liners and the Vauxhall Auction Market.  They also started their family in Vauxhall. In 1965 they bought a farm near Vauxhall and farmed there until 1974 when they purchased the Spring Point Ranch near Fort Macleod. After ranching for a time Ronnie went to work as a Warranty Maintenance Manager for Safeway Shelter Systems. He then went on to work at the Granum seed cleaning plant before taking over as the Seed Cleaning Manager in Delia in 1985.  . -Ronnie worked at the Seeding Cleaning Plant until 1996 and even took on the Mayorship of Delia for a short time before eventually retiring. Ronnie and Norma enjoyed many years in Delia and the surrounding area until 2017 when they moved to Drumheller.

Ronnie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ronnie enjoyed many close friendships through hunting and fishing especially on an annual hunting trip to the mountains. Ron also loved camping with Norma. Among their adventures was a memorable truck and camper trip in 1980 to California as well as trips to Alaska and many camping trips around Alberta.

Woodworking was another of Ronnie’s Passions. He took great joy in crafting hand made items for his family such as toy boxes, garden wishing wells, blanket boxes, hope chests, benches, decorative lawn ornaments and other such treasures. Ronnie was also known for making bluebird birdhouses which he attached to fence posts in the Handhills. Some can still be seen today.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hillview Lodge for their exceptional care, and as well to Drumheller Acute Care for the attention, care and support provided by the doctors, nurses and staff during Ronnies’s brief hospital stay.

The immediate family will hold a private interment to honor and remember Dad/Grandpa.  Memorial Donations may be made in memory of Ronald Seeger to Drumheller and District Senior's Foundation.
