Mr. Rick Spafford of Drumheller beloved father of Carly and Hailey passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 at the age of 63 years.
Rick was born and raised in the Drumheller valley. Rick was well known for being a phenomenal pool player. He was legendary throughout Alberta. He had many fond memories of tournaments and games with his friends. He was an animal lover and almost always had an animal companion, be it a dog, a bird or the cat he thought he never wanted but later became his best friend. Anyone who crossed paths with Rick would say he was kind, selfless and would give you the shirt off of his back. His great sense of humour and his fearless attitude made him quite the character. Rick was strong in his faith. His creative mind and strong spirit will be greatly missed.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Ron Spafford, Irene Spafford.
Rick leaves to cherish his memory, his two daughters, Carly (Cody) Spafford, Hailey Spafford, his siblings Kathy Hadley, Debbie (Pete) Cardamone, Dave Spafford, numerous nieces, nephews: Sarah, Josh, Lisa, Shane, Jordan, Ryan, Tyler, Melissa, Tanille and a lifetime of friends.
A Celebration of Life for Rick will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of the Nazarene(627 6th Street, East, Drumheller, Alberta) with Pastor Carlos officiating. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. Drumheller District Humane Society or to the charity of ones’ choice. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
