Richard Heppner

It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Richard Heppner announce his sudden passing on October 14, 2022.

Richard was born in Coaldale Alberta on June 21, 1950. He lived on the family farm during his childhood before moving to Red Deer, then Youngstown and finally settling to Drumheller in 1989.

Richard was a true collector of many things. He spent many years and hours purchasing, organizing, and finding creative ways to display his treasures.   Richard was a man of few words, although he knew how to tell you his wants and make his desires known.

Richard had many enjoyments in life, he loved to listen to the violin or fiddle being played, he was an avid hockey and wrestling fan and enjoyed watching both with excitement. Richard enjoyed a good meal, always willing to go out for a good smorgasbord, a good burger and he had a sweet tooth. For many years Richard perfected the art of creating the perfect burger and enjoyed giving them to people close to him.

Richard spent many hours throughout his life, writing, in his words his journey, and always enjoyed time quietly spent with continued writings and simplistic artwork.

He was passionate about shopping and gifts and thoroughly enjoyed going for trips to the stores, shopping in the city and looked forward to celebrations such as birthdays and Christmas. Richard also enjoyed the quieter times in life, like simple and peaceful sightseeing with friends.

Richard always greeted people with his big contagious smile, and his hand up in a greeting wave to show his enthusiasm to see them. Richards’s unique personality made and everlasting impact on the people in his life and will be dearly missed by his many friends.

A celebration of life is being planned by his friends at Drumheller and Region Transition Society.
