Obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Mom, Granny and Great Granny, Nonie (Phyllis) Delenor Donais of Drumheller on March 7, 2022, at the age of 84. Mom faced several medical challenges over the past few years especially these past several months. Mom was surrounded by her large family and passed away peacefully in her home.

Our mother, Nonie, was the strongest/most courageous, loving, kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of our family. Mom truly loved each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in her own loving way.

Nonie was born in 1937 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, then moved to Drumheller in 1954 to stay with her Uncle Stan and Aunty Della. Shortly after moving to Drumheller she met the love of her life, Eugene. They were married April 14, 1956, moved to Midland and started a family. They raised 7 children plus many others along the way.

Mom worked most of her life while raising her children at the Drumheller Hospital in the kitchen until 1970. Mom then went on to raise her family and provide support to Eugene taking care of the family business and their home in Verdant Valley. Upon retirement Mom and Dad moved back to Midland in 1999. Nonie and Gene spent many years of camping, and fishing together, having their large family come home to spent holidays with them at the farm. Plus getting together with their many friends along the way.
