Obituary  Norman (Mick) Chambers

May 22, 1943 – October 7, 2025

Mick Chambers passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born in Drumheller and was the eldest son of Margaret and William Chambers.  The family lived near Munson, then Morrin; he attended school in both communities.  As a young boy, he showed an interest in farming and also participated in Boy Scouts and 4-H.

Mick and Marg married in 1962 and moved to Grandpa Clyde and Grandma Ivy’s homestead. His passion for farming extended his entire life.  He was always very active in the community; he helped build the Morrin arena and the Drum Ski Hill, coached hockey, and was a Lion’s and Ag Society member. Mick was always there whenever help was needed. He enjoyed skiing, curling, old timer hockey, camping and BVJ. His warm smile uplifted family, friends and strangers alike.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Margaret of 63 years, their children Wes (Violet) Baker, Wanda (Reno), Contenti,  Sherry (Don) Tchir, Marleen (Carey) Orkusz and Gary (Martha) Chambers. He was adored by his grandchildren Miranda, Justina (Chad), Ryan (Danielle), Curtis (Dani), Kayla (Trevor), Alanna, (Kirk) Jordan, Nick and Chase. Mick was blessed to have 8 Great Grandchildren.

He is also survived by siblings Jeanette (Jim) Sutherland, Carol Kashuba, Bob Chambers,  Dennis (Debbie) Chambers and sister-in-law Shirley Riggs.

He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Bill, sister-in-law Cathy Chambers, brother-in-laws Stephen Kashuba and Vern Riggs and son-in-law Keith Martin.  The many nieces and nephews will carry fond memories of their Uncle Mick.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Longterm Continuing Care. A Celebration of Life is being held on Friday, October 17th,  2 pm at the Morrin Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Drumheller Long Term Continuing Care or a charity of your choice.

Please do not purchase flowers off this site, please use your own florist.
