Maria Grant

Maria Grant passed away at the Drumheller Health Centre Continuing Care on April 28, 2023 at the age of 91. (1931-2023) Maria originally lived in Edmonton, AB but resided in Drumheller, AB for the past two years. She was predeceased by her husband in 1985 and remained a widow.

She was survived by her 9 children - Eleonora (Dave) Fortier, George (Joan) Penner, Lydia (Craig) Letevre, Evelyn Buset, Loretta (Randy) Ransome, Albertha Grant, Lloyd (Heather) Penner, Darryl (Jennifer) Grant, and Wanda-Lee (Rory) Gorman. She had 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly, and one surviving sister, Sarah Sawatsky.

Maria was very loved by her family and many friends. She was well known for her generosity, hospitality and baking and cooking up a storm. Her home always smelled of baked bread and apple pies. Maria was surrounded by love at the time of her passing. She will be deeply missed.

Continuing Care for the compassion and care they gave her and the family for the past year. We also thank Dr. Brock Randolf for the care and compassionate attention he gave to mom and the family during this time.

Maria requested no funeral or memorial service to be held for her, so that request is being honored by her family.
