Margo Robertson Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margo Leslie Robertson.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Margo was the youngest child of Robert and Doris Robertson.

Margo excelled academically and athletically from an early age, developing a lifelong passion for golf. In 1978, she went on to become one of only six women in Canada to attain Class B-5 Golf Professional status, serving as Assistant Professional at the Elks Club in Calgary and later as Head Professional at Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club in Drumheller.

In 1982, Margo met the love of her life and devoted husband, Dwight Klimek. Together they built a life centred on friendship, family, sport, travel, and community. In 1984, they opened The Sports Room in Drumheller, a successful sporting goods and fashion business that became a valued part of the community.

Margo was an accomplished golfer, curler, business owner, hostess, and friend. She cherished time spent at Red Deer Lake, where she became known for bringing people together through countless social gatherings, good food, and laughter. In retirement, she and Dwight enjoyed winters in Palm Desert, California, where Margo continued her involvement in golf and served as a dedicated member of the Desert Falls Women's Golf Association.

Margo will be remembered for her determination, generosity, kindness, sense of humour, and quiet strength. She touched many lives through her friendship, loyalty, and unwavering care for those around her. She will be deeply missed by Dwight, her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband Dwight Klimek; her brother Geoff Robertson (Laurie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Margo was predeceased by her parents Robert and Doris Robertson; sister Charlotte; and brother Bob.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Ponoka Golf Course, 3519 - 46th St, Ponoka, AB.

The family extends sincere gratitude to all who have offered their support, kindness, and friendship throughout Margo's journey.

Those wishing to honour Margo's memory may make a donation to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation
