Margaret Chambers passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 85 years. Mom was born in Drumheller and was the youngest daughter of Victor and Ethel Devaleriola. They lived on the family farm near Morrin. Marg rode a pony to attend Golden Hills School until its closure in 1955. Marg and her sister Shirley enjoyed country living, including riding their ponies, swimming in the slough and a yearly highlight was attending the Hand Hills Stampede.
She completed her education at Morrin School, then attended Henderson Secretarial College. Marg finished at the top of her class. After working a year in Calgary, she and a good friend Helen boarded a ship to Honolulu. Marg enjoyed work at a newspaper publishing company. What a memorable experience; beach time and touring the Hawaiian Islands.
Upon returning home Mom & Dad married on October 20, 1962, and they moved to Grandfather Chambers Homestead. Marg was always very involved in the community, being a founding member of the Morrin Figure Skating Club and active in the Sunbeam Community and Horticultural Society. Marg traveled many miles running the kids to hockey and figure skating.
Marg was a hardworking and committed farm wife. She was known to be an extremely talented and creative person who spent hours gardening, sewing, cake decorating, floral arranging, baking, collecting coins and scrapbooking.
Marg and Mick enjoyed camping with family and friends and truly looked forward to their annual camping trip at Buffalo Lake with grandchildren. In later years, they enjoyed traveling in Canada and abroad.
Marg had a heart of gold. She truly was a beautiful person and will be deeply missed by so many.
