Mabel Shipton
June 7, 1929 ~ July 13, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mabel Shipton on July 13, 2026, at the Drumheller Health Centre surrounded by her family at the age of 97 years.
Mabel was born in Castor, Alberta on June 7, 1929, to parents Rose and George Renschler. She took her schooling in Castor. Later on she met and married Clarence Shipton. Mabel and Clarence lived in many places during their marriage due to Clarence’s occupation as a Grain Buyer.
Mabel retired from the Drumheller Hospital after many years working in the kitchen. Mabel’s greatest joy was family, spending time with her children and grandchildren was most important. Mabel will be dearly missed by her loving family.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Clarence Shipton, her son Gerald Shipton, son- in-law Bill Macpherson, granddaughter Tracy Van Ryn and grandson Jonathan Burnett.
Mabel leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Donna Macpherson, Shirley (Lindsay) Burnett, Charlotte (John) Van Ryn, sons Calvin (Glenda) Shipton, William (Kimberly) Shipton, daughter-in-law Lorraine Shipton, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
At Mabel’s request there will not be a formal funeral service. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made in Loving Memory of Mabel to S.T.A.R.S., Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
