Lyall Herbert Radke

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lyall Herbert Radke at the age of 65.

Lyall was born on February 10, 1955 in Hanna, the eldest child of Herbert and Elsie Radke. He attended school in Munson, Alberta and later Morrin. Lyall met Nancy Donnelly, his wife of 31 years in Calgary, also welcoming Jason and Holly as his own. He worked in the Oil and Gas Industry all of his working career, starting as a Roughneck at 16, working his way up ending his career as a consultant in 2015. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, camping, fishing, boating, and playing cards. He also spent many hours chatting over coffee with his closest friend, Ron Wegleitner at R&R Auto. Lyall loved children and enjoyed spending any time he could with his great nieces and nephews whenever possible.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy and his parents Herbert and Elsie Radke.

Lyall leaves to mourn his passing; his two children Jason and Holly, and granddaughter, Saphira, siblings; Theresa (Ron) Storch, Kathleen Radke (Cliff) and Lane Radke, nieces and nephews; Brad (Renee) Storch, Greg (Jannelle) Storch, Kristy (Rick) Norman, Randy Jordan, Nicole Jordan (Travis), and Crystal (Richard) Lucier, great nieces and nephews; Eden, Ryan, Stella, Brennen, Brady, Beckett, Rylee, Ehren, Jenerale, and Chandaya, many close cousins and closest friend Ron (Rete) Wegleitner.

A private graveside service will be held for family and invited guests only due to COVID restrictions at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Handhills on Saturday, June 6th at 2pm.

The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff from Drumheller and Hanna care facilities.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lyall’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Home are in care of arrangements.
