Kenneth Pearce Obituary

Kenneth Frederick Pearce

July 31, 1930 ~ March 19, 2024

It is great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ken Pearce on March 19, 2024 at Memory Lane/Continuing Care (Drumheller) surrounded by his loving family at the age of 93 years.

Ken was born July 31, 1930 in Kidderminster, England.  Ken married Georgina Evans on February 11, 1967 in Kidderminster.  The couple immigrated to Canada in 1968, settling in the Drumheller valley.  Their first child Sharon was born in 1969, second child Darlene was born in 1971.  Ken started with Corrections Canada in 1970.  He spent his working life as a Guard, then later a Keeper.  The couple cultivated their life in the valley raising their family, making many friends along the way.

Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and later on his sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He loved to get out camping and fishing.  Ken will be remembered fondly by his loving family and a lifetime of friends.

He was predeceased by his parents in England, his granddaughter Carrie Koopmans, son-in-law John Koopmans and numerous other family members.

Ken leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Georgina Pearce, his daughter Sharon (Mark) Otto, his daughter Darlene Koopmans, his sister Doreen, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

As per Ken’s wishes, there will not be any formal funeral service. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Foundation.  Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
