Joyce Eva (Yowney) Lee

Joyce Eva Lee of Drumheller, Alberta passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 10th, 2023. Joyce was born on July 18th, 1940, in Athabasca, Alberta to Metro and Annie Yowney.

Mom’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Joyce loved and adored her grand babies and received so much joy from them. Joyce was everyone’s Baba, and her door was always open for wonderful conversation, and usually cookies, cinnamon buns, and a perogy here and there. She welcomed everyone young and old alike into her heart. In the summertime you would always find her outside with her flowers and in the winter she would get so excited to decorate her yard. Mom worked in Continuing Care for many years, and she received so much joy and fulfillment from working with the residents.

She met her loving husband Gerald in Athabasca and had 6 children. Joyce is survived by her daughter Brenda (John), Sandy (Doug), Rodney, Darren (Amanda), Linda (Rick), and Geraldine. She also leaves behind her siblings Alice (Bill) Mikaluk, Phyllis Detonnancour, and Eldean (Barry) Locher, her beloved 10 grandchildren, and 6 beautiful great grandchildren. Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Gerald, her parents Metro and Annie Yowney, siblings Walter Yowney, Emily Podgorney, Mike Yowney, Bert Yowney, Pete Yowney, Eugene Yowney, and Alex Yowney, and her granddaughters Brittany Gallagher, and Crystal Lee.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Parish on February 18th, 2023, at 11 am. A luncheon will be held after Mass in the Parish Hall.
