John Bela Szabo

March 17, 1959 ~ February 21, 2024

Mr. John Szabo of Wayne, Alberta beloved husband of Georganna Moore passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, at the age of 64 years in Three Hills Health Centre, Three Hills, Alberta.

John was born in Teck, Ontario to Anton & Elizabeth Horvath.  He was adopted by Mr. & Mrs. Szabo.

John enjoyed cooking, golf, darts, gardening, and fishing.  He was a glazier by trade for forty plus years.  His cooking was amazing, his beer battered halibut was loved by everybody that ate it.  John loved going deep sea fishing in the Queen Charlotte Islands.  He went several times with a group of friends.  He had several dogs over the years that he loved dearly; Thor, Bear, Daisy, and Brax were some of his favourites.  He was a very loyal friend to many people and would do anything he could to help his friends and family. Additionally, he was a Huge Huge Fan of The Toronto Maple Leafs!!!

John was predeceased by his birth parents Anton & Elizabeth Horvath, his adopted parents Bela & Maria Szabo, and his brothers Anton and Steven.

Besides his loving wife Georganna, John leave to mourn one daughter Jennifer Szabo of Ontario, one son Michael Szabo of Mississippi, one sister Aniko (Dave) McIntyre, three brothers Shawn (Kathy), Gordon (Jennifer), Peter (Peggy), numerous nieces, nephews and a lifetime of friends.

If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to any Canadian Animal Shelter.  Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
