Iris Anderson Obituary

Iris Christina Anne Anderson of Delburne, Alta, beloved wife of the late Raymond Anderson, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 in Drumheller at the age of 85 years.

Iris was born March 18, 1935 in Craigmyle, Alta. She had two brothers and two half sisters. Iris grew up in Stettler and met her husband at the age of 17. They moved to Pincher Creek where Ray worked in the Oilfield. They also lived on a ranch in Chinook, moved to Fort St. John for a year, and then Hanna and Joffre.

Iris moved to Delburne after Ray passed away in 1995. She lived there with her Cockapoo named Cindy. Her love of baking and gardening kept her busy, and visits from her Grandchildren Skye and Summer – who lived just up the street. Iris loved to play slots and has travelled to Las Vegas and Reno, as well as BC and Australia. She will be remembered for her homecooked meals, cheerful laugh and special hugs, called ‘dee-dees’.

Iris is survived by her sons Peter and Clayton Anderson, grandchildren Jamie, Denton, Chelsey, Haley, Jenna, Skye and Summer. Besides her loving husband, Iris was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Anna Nixon, and children Mitch, Patricia and Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish can donate to the Ronald McDonald House of Charities: 111 W Campus Pl, Calgary, AB T3B 2R6
