Heinz Olbrich of Drumheller, Alberta beloved husband of Marjorie Olbrich passed away peacefully on September 1, 2020 at the age of 84 years at the Drumheller Health Centre.
Heinz came to Canada from Germany in 1957, he arrived in Drumheller in April of that same year. He worked for Ernie Sherman for three years. He met his future wife, Marjorie Goodfellow and they were married in July of 1961. They moved to Moosejaw, Saskatchewan where he opened his own upholstery shop. He had the shop until 1980 when they sold and moved back to Drumheller. He ran and instructed the upholstery shop at the Drumheller Penitentiary from 1980 until his retirement in 1993. He coached soccer in Moose Jaw for 15 years and continued to coach for many years after his move back to Drumheller. Heinz was known for always having a smile and a laugh. He was a smart man, a great father, a loyal friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. “Rest easy now Dad”
Heinz leaves to mourn his wife Marjorie, three sons; Darrell (Darlene), Mark (Amber), Doug, grandchildren; Sherri, Melissa, Shandi, Carmanah, Cadence, Kylee, Nathan, Shannon, Wendi, sister Hilda, brother Horst (Marie) and a lifetime of friends.
Heinz was predeceased by his parents Oskar and Rosa, brothers Fritz and Hans, daughter Leslie.
