Obituary
Edwin (Ed) Micheal Duhn, aged 69 of Drumheller, Alberta, passed away on April 7, 2026 in the Drumheller Health Centre.
Edwin was born on March 18, 1957 in Calgary, Alberta.
Edwin is survived by his sister Wanda Duhn (Doug Copeland), and several cousins. He was predeceased by his Mother, Marilyn Gail (Jackson) Duhn and Father Earl Larsen Duhn.
In Edwin’s early childhood he spent a lot of time at his Duhn grandparents farm just east of Calgary near Conrich, Alberta. This is where Ed learned his appreciation and skills with auto body, mechanics and gardening.
He worked in his youth as a licensed auto body specialist, but due to his eyesight was forced to retire early. He moved from Calgary to the more pedestrian friendly, smaller town of Drumheller in 2008. He kept busy helping everyone with many construction and vehicle projects, and is known for his positive attitude, sense of humor, and the ability to carry on no matter what the obstacles. In spite of his deteriorating eyesight he persevered and rode his bike and kept social with his many friends. He enjoyed his morning coffee meetings with the other men at A&W and was very active in the Drumheller Legion.
He was always ready to support the musicians in town and enjoyed going to their shows at various venues in Drumheller.
He greatly enjoyed gardening every year, harvesting some of the best tomatoes in town! Edwin will be remembered for his sense of humor, perseverance and positive attitude.
Ed touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Though he may be gone, the memories shared and the love given will remain forever in our hearts.
The Duhn cousins, Randy, Deanna and Rhonda were so very happy to celebrate with Ed, his sister and her partner on Ed's 69th birthday, March 18th at the Drumheller Hospital.
A deep thank you to all the nurses and staff in the Drummheller Health Center Acute Care for taking great care of Ed through his admirable battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be held on May 2 from 2-4 pm at the Drumheller Royal Canadian Legion. All are welcome.
