Douglas Joseph Hodgson
Obituary
Mr. Douglas Joseph Hodgson of Dorothy passed away in Red Deer on February 23, 2023, at the age of 77 years.
Doug was born in Drumheller, Alberta and was raised along the Red Deer River in Dorothy, Alberta. He took his schooling in Dorothy, at an early age he began his adventures on the rigs and driving truck. Doug came back to ranch along side his father Eric. In 1977 Doug married (later divorced) Florence Krisko, they welcomed a daughter Chyanne in 1978. Doug raised his daughter on the ranch, and they made many miles while making many memories travelling the rodeo circuit. He continued to ranch until his death. He wouldn’t want to live any other way.
Doug leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Chyanne (Wade) Maurer, grandchildren Cade and Taya, sister Ethel Davies, brother Donald (Dixie) Hodgson, numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Doug was predeceased by his parents Eric and Blanche Hodgson, brother Gordon Hodgson, nephews Murray and Larry Hodgson, and niece Joanne Hodgson.
As per Doug’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital or the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
