It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Dorothy Linda Dawson at the age of 74 years in Red Deer, Alberta surrounded by her family on June 24, 2023.

She was born in Drumheller on June 9, 1949, to Russel and Vera glover.  She was their first born of three children with two little brothers Ken and Timothy.  Dorothy resided in Drumheller for all her years.  She had two daughters, Sabrina (Brina) and Linda (Lindy) as she called them.  She was a very strong woman, courageous, kind and a very hard worker.  Her family always came first as she raised her daughters on her own.  She had a love of baking, board games, card games and reading. 

Dorothy leaves to mourn her brother Ken (Linda), daughters Sabrina (Terry), Linda (Brian), grandchildren Colby (Alyssa), Tanner, Shellbi (Andy), Jessie, Derek, great grandchildren Owen, Alivia, Harper, Tucker, Carson, nephew Kenny, niece Caralee and numerous other family and friends.

She was predeceased by her father Russel, her mother Vera, brother Timothy, and her grandson Mitchell.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M., interment to follow at the Drumheller Cemetery.  There will be a time of fellowship and light refreshments at Newcastle Hall following the interment service.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, S.T.A.R.S. or the charity of one’s choice.
