In Loving Memory of
Donald Harry Bereski
1948 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Donald Harry Bereski of Drumheller, who left us peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
After 11 long years apart, Don has made his way back to his beloved wife, Inez, where they are together once again — just as it should be.
Don was one of the hardest working and most dependable people you could ever meet. For 35 years, he ran his own plumbing and heating business, proudly serving his community and building lasting friendships along the way. When he retired, he spent his days exactly how he wanted — side by side with Inez, doing all the things they loved most. You could always find them tending to their garden, planting flowers, going for walks, or setting off on another one of their bike riding adventures. Wherever they went, there was laughter, teasing, and love.
In these last few years, Don was lovingly cared for by his son John, and together they shared a special bond — living together once again, just like when John was a kid, only this time the roles were reversed.
Don was happiest when he was with his family — especially when he was cheering on his grandchildren at hockey rinks near and far. He never missed a game, and you could always count on him to have a bottle of vinegar for his fries. He’d proudly tell anyone who would listen which rink had the best ones.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Chrissy (Cliff) McDougald; his son, John Bereski; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Alysa), Connor (Kyley), and Delaney (Porter). Don was also blessed to become a proud great-papa to Alice and Wesley, who brought him endless smiles and joy.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law Linda Bereski; nephew Todd (Rita) Bereski; great-niece Teia; great-nephew Dalin; niece Adriana (Steve) O’Dwyer; and great-nephews Jasper, Cooper, and Parker.
Don is now reunited with his loving wife Inez, his parents, his brother John (Sunny) Bereski, and his daughter-in-law Rachelle.
Don will always be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the joy he found in life’s simple moments. He faced every part of life — even his final days — with calm, courage, and love. He never complained, never gave up, and always found a way to smile. His strength, warmth, and love will continue to live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
Though he may be gone from our sight, his laughter, his wisdom, and his love will forever be felt in our hearts.
As per Don’s wishes, there will not be a formal service.
Papa's gone home to be with Nonna-
together again, just as it was always meant
to be. I can almost see them now, hand in hand, dancing softly in heaven. The same
way they did here on earth-full of
laughter, love, and that quiet kind of joy
that everyone around them could feel.
Though our hearts ache without him here,
there's comfort in knowing he's right where
he belongs-with her. Watching over us,
smiling, proud of the family they built and
the love that still fills every piece of it.
Their dance isn't over; it's just moved to a
place where the music never stops.
