Dave
June 15, 1953 - September 21, 2025
David John Dedul of Drumheller, beloved husband of Loralee Dedul (nee Kempling) passed away peacefully with Loralee by his side, after a brave and lengthly battle with Parkinson’s disease, at the age of 72. Dave was the first of three sons born to John and Bernice Dedul in Drumheller. Dave and his brothers Steve and Mark spent many days fishing, hunting, hiking, and exploring the Drumheller Valley. Dave was always building or creating or experimenting. He loved cars from a young age and was always very mechanical. He found his love of flying and airplanes at a young age and could usually be found building model air planes, or flying them. As he got older he got into hang-gliding. He spent many days hang-gliding over the mountains of Sweetgrass Montana with good friends and his brother Steve. Dave was a jack of all trades and had a wide variety of jobs throughout his life, mostly all automotive related. He got his start in autobody work at his Uncle Jack’s shop Drum Body Works, and eventually ran his own auto body shop named Dave’s Paint and Body. He met his loving wife Loralee when he was 19 and she was 16. They welcomed two daughters,Lisa in 1974, and Wendy in 1979. Dave and “his girls” spent many days at the airport as his hang gliders evolved to ultra lights and eventually his Cessna 172. Dave will always be fondly remembered as ‘MacGyver’ for his ability to build something out of nothing. He was a great pilot, husband, son, father, brother, and friend. Besides his loving wife Loralee, Dave is survived by his mother Bernice Dedul,Daughters: Lisa (Kevin) McKenzie, and Wendy (Chris)Walsh. Grandchildren: Megan (Will) Motz, Kelvin (Jaci)McKenzie, Coyne and Opal Walsh. Great grandchild:Bennett McKenzie and baby Motz on the way. Brothers:Steve (Joanne) Dedul, Mark (Terri) Dedul and brother-in-law Steve Kempling. As well as nephew Johnathan Dedul and nieces Melanie (Alex) Clark, Marci (Chris) Chase and family, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father John Dedul.
