Clifford Elroy Deitz

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Cliff on May 18, 2026, at the Drumheller Health Centre at the age of 87 years.

Cliff was born October 27, 1938, in Stettler, Alberta to Margaret & Peter Deitz, he was one of three children.  Cliff was raised and educated in High River, Alberta.  Upon completion of high school Cliff did various odd jobs, then he got a job with Amarata doing seismic, they trained him in data entry, then Cliff went to work for Amaco, it was there that Cliff’s lifelong career ensued.

Cliff met Vivian in 1984 in Calgary, the couple remained together for 42 years, marrying in 2000.  Cliff and Vivian retired to East Coulee in September 1993, living there for 33 years.  They enjoyed small community living.  Cliff enjoyed all things outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping, rodeos and many other outdoor activities.  Cliff was very proud to have served as the president for the East Coulee Association for twenty years, he was the treasurer and president for Heart-to-Heart Foundation, he also serviced as a volunteer fire fighter for the community of East Coulee, and a member of the Alberta Fish and Game Association.  Cliff was a private man, but he loved socializing, he was a man of his word.  Cliff will be missed by his family and a lifetime of friends.

Cliff was predeceased by his infant son Troy, and his parents.

Cliff will be remembered by his wife Vivian, children Joey Eagleston, Bob Deitz, Deanna (Mike) Deitz, stepdaughter Wendy Flater, grandsons John Pollard and Joel Deitz, two sisters Donna (Cecil) MacDonald, Sherli (John) O’Dell and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Cliff on Saturday August 22, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the East Coulee Community Hall, if friends so desire memorial donations may be made the Drumheller District Health Foundation (Continuing Care) or the Drumheller Heart to Heart Foundation.
