Brian Arthur Boe

Mr. Brian Arthur Boe of Drumheller, beloved husband of Gaye Boe passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at the Drumheller Hospital at the age of 78 years.

Brian was born to Hans and Erna Boe on November 29, 1944, in Drumheller, Alberta.  Brian took his early schooling at Blue Spring School in Dalum, then the new school in Dalum until grade nine.  He then went to Hussar High School and graduated from Drumheller High School.  Brian attended S.A.I.T. prior to starting his farming career.  He started farming with his dad Hans, and then he took over the family farm upon his dad’s retirement until he himself retired and his sons now work the family farm.  Although farming was Brian’s passion, he had many other interests and pastimes including curling, baseball, golfing, politics and playing cards. Brian and Gaye enjoyed their winters in Yuma, Arizona and their summers at their cabin at Fish Lake.  He will be sadly missed by his family and a lifetime of friends.

Brian leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Gaye, two sons Mitchell Hans (Amanda), Kalen Brian, grandchildren Adeline Erna and Greyson Mitchell, two sisters Linda McGrath, Irene Zimmer, and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Brian was predeceased by his parents Hans & Erna Boe, his daughter Sine Boe,  adopted daughter Christine Ireland, and brother-in-law Carl Zimmer.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Dalum with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating, interment will follow in the Dalum Cemetery.  If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Dalum Lutheran Church.  Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
