Andrew (Jim) James Waters

April 30, 1927 - October 20, 2023

 Jim was born to E. Harvey and Isabella Waters, the fifth of seven children.  He grew up on the family farm south of Morrin, Ab.  His love of travel took him to New Zealand in 1956 where he met and married Valda Burnan in 1961.  They came to Canada in 1967 to live in Calgary and later settled in Victoria, B.C. where they enjoyed their retirement years.  Jim returned to Alberta where he resided in the Sunshine Lodge, Hillview and later Continuing Care.  Jim had a passion for poetry (writing many of his own poems), history, world travel, road trips to local Casinos and a good story or joke.
  He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Valda, siblings Elizabeth, Anne, Sam, Bill, Fred and Mary, sisters-in-law Anne Waters, Robbie Waters and Grace (Peg) Woolley and brothers-in-law Roger Pearson, David Burnan and Noel Burnan.
  Jim will be remembered by his nieces and nephews in Canada and New Zealand, Sisters-in-law Laura Waters, Joyce Dunning and Margaret Burnan, brother-in-law Des Woolley and special friends Anne and Don Turner and their family.
  Jim’s final resting place will be in Victoria, BC with his beloved wife Valda.
As per his request there will be no funeral.
