John Makos Obituary

John Harold Makos

John passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital on August 31, 2019 at the age of 87 years.

John is survived by his nephew, Rick (Gayle) Trembecky, nieces, Sandra Hajash, Susan Hajash-Johnson and nephew Don Hajash and their families.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Trembecky and Liz Hajash.

John grew up in Star Mine (Rosedale).  He played baseball for the Rosedale Midways.  From there tryouts with the Brooklyn Dodgers.  He went on to work for the Food Wholesale Business (West Fair Foods) in Red Deer and Edmonton, retiring to Rosedale 25 years ago.  He was an avid Blue Jays fan and Oilers fan.  He will be missed by his fishing buddies, Chester Pinter and John Kakuk and good neighbour Shirley Los.  At John's request no service will be held.  Courtney-Winter's Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
