David S Stahl

Rev. Dave Stahl was born December 7, 1940 at Cranford, Alberta.  He married his beloved wife Susie on June 14, 1964.  Their marriage was blessed with five children.  In 1972 they moved to Starland, Alberta where he was elected the minister on July 27, 1977.  And then in 1996 Dave with his family moved yet again to Blue Sky Colony.  On July 3, 2007 Dave lost Susie to Cancer.  Besides being Reverend, Dad was a mechanic most of his life.  He enjoyed many hours on his Cat clearing land and doing what he loved best.  He would spend all day on there and when evening came he was home by five to get ready for evening church service.  After suffering a heart attack in May 2018 he was back on the job in two months.  Willpower and passion kept him going.

Dad was a man of great integrity and his authority is what has made us into the people we are today.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rev. David S Stahl of Blue Sky Hutterite Colony who passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, January 8, 2019 in the Drumheller Health Centre at the age of 78 years.

David leaves behind his family, Judy (Rev. Frank) Walter of Ridgevalley Colony, Crooked Creek, Alberta, Eddy (Lana), Tim (Lena), Michael (Barbara), David (Josie), all of Blue Sky Colony, he also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brothers; Elias (Susie) of Starland Colony, Joe (Rebecca), Peter (Anne) of Blue Sky Colony, numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave was predeceased by his loving wife Susie on July 3, 2007, one grandchild Sheldon, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
